Beavers
Aizenstadt
comes back to Falmouth following a stint last season cut short
by injury. As a freshman in 2008, Aizenstadt was named NEWMAC
Rookie of the Year, first team All-Conference, and Third Team
All-New England. During his sophomore year in 2009, Aizenstadt
was named first team All-Conference and second team All-New
England (ECAC and NEIBA). A 6-5, 190 right-handed hurler out
of Norwell, Massachusetts, he currently holds the Babson
record for most wins in a season with 8 in 2009. Falmouth is

Jeremy Baltz, OF- St. John’s Red
Storm
A 6-3
outfielder from Vestal, New York, Baltz joins the Commodores
for his first season in the Cape Cod Baseball League. Baltz
was drafted in the 45th round of the 2009 MLB draft
by the New York Yankees. To add to his impressive resume, as a
freshman Baltz earned first team All-America honors from
Baseball America and second team honors from the ABCA. In
2010, he also earned the Big East Rookie of the Year honor, as
well as a unanimous selection to the league’s first team.
Jeremy also led the nation’s freshmen in the 2010 season in

Barrett Barnes, OF-1B- Texas Tech Red Raiders
Barnes
returns to Falmouth after leading the Commodores to a second
place division finish in 2010 with a 21-22 overall record. A
6-1 outfielder from Sugar Land, Texas, Barnes was named the
2010 Big 12 Conference Freshmen of the Year. He was also named
to the all-Big 12 second team, as well as Baseball America’s
Freshmen All-American First Team. As the fifth freshman
All-American in Texas Tech history, Barnes was 31st
in the NCAA in runs per game (1.25) and 32nd in
runs scored (71). Barrett offers a wide range of talents for
the Commodores as he is both an effective outfielder and first

Blach, LHP- Creighton Bluejays
Blach
joins the Commodores as a 6-1 pitcher from Centennial,
Colorado. As a freshman at Creighton, Blach posted an
impressive 58 strikeouts in 75.1 innings. He earned third-team
Freshman All-American honors by PingBaseball.com in 2010, as
well as All-State Academic First team honors his junior and
senior year in high school while at Regis Jesuit. Blach led
the Jays in ERA last season and threw one of two complete
games for the staff in 2010. The Commodores are excited to

Chase Butler, 3B- Georgia Tech Yellow
Jackets
A
5-10 third basemen out of Georgia Tech University, Butler
joins the Commodores for the 2011 season. While at Darlington
High School in Rome, Georgia, Butler lettered four times on
his way to being named Rome-Tribune Co-Player of the Year as a
junior in 2009 along with current Yellow Jacket Mott Hyde.
After batting .530 with 10 home runs and 32 RBI, Butler was
named All-Region and All-State his senior year. A member of
the prestigious East Cobb Yankees, Butler comes to Falmouth
with a powerful bat and impressive glove for the 2011 season.

Tyler Duffey, RHP - Rice
Owls A
2009 graduate of Bellaire High School in Texas, Duffey joins
the Commodores as a sophomore out of Rice. Collegiate baseball
named him as one of the nation’s top prep prospects in 2009,
as he led Bellaire to a 34-4-1 record. In 2008, Duffey played
for the Texas Rangers area code team, as well as being named a
Houston Area Baseball Coaches association all-star. As a
three-pitch pitcher, Duffey brings tremendous potential, as

Adam
Duke, P- Oregon State Beavers
Duke
joins the Commodores following his freshmen season with Oregon
State. The Beavers have an impressive resume with the
Commodores providing 2010 All-Star catcher Andrew Susac last
season. A 6-3 pitcher from Utah, Duke was rated as the No. 100
high school prospect in the United States by
www.pgcrosschecker.com. Adam compiled an 18-6 record with 163
strikeouts through his first two seasons in high school. As a
freshman out of Oregon State, Duke has played at the top of
NCAA baseball and should be a valuable asset in the

Jonathan Dziedzic, LHP- Lamar
Cardinals
A 6-1
left hander out of Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas,
Dziedzic joins the Commodores for the 2011 season. As a
freshman, he made a huge impact with Cardinals posting a
Southland Conference high of 114 strikeouts. It was the
second-highest in school history behind Clay Hensley’s 127 in
2002. He made 15 starts in 19 appearances posting a 5-6 record
with two saves. In high school while at Atascocita, Dziedzic
was voted District 21-5A MVP as a senior and also made the
first team All-Greater Houston squad. Falmouth is excited to

Josh Easley, RHP- NC State
Wolfpack
During
2010, Easley played at Weatherford College, where, as 6-3
right-hander recorded 3.99 ERA with a 10-2 record. While at
Weatherford, he tied the school’s single-season record for
wins as a pitcher. In the 2011 season, he will play for the
Wolfpack at North Carolina State. A graduate of Weatherford
High school, Easley recorded a 7-3 record while being awarded
team co-MVP his senior year. He started for the North team in
the 2010 Texas High School All-Star game. Falmouth is excited

Kent Emanuel, LHP- North Carolina Tar
Heels
Emanuel,
a left-handed pitcher from Woodstock, Georgia, joins the
Commodores as one of two Tar Heels out of the University of
North Carolina. With an intimidating 6-4 stature,
Emanuel was ranked as the No. 39 prospect in Georgia and No.
493 prospect in the country by Perfect Game. In 2009 as a
junior in high school, Emanuel was awarded the Cherokee county
male athlete of the year. Drafted in the 19th round
by the Pittsburgh Pirates, Emanuel brings outstanding pitch

Eric Garcia, INF- Missouri
Tigers Garcia
is a freshman infielder out of Mizzou, who comes to Falmouth
with a phenomenal track record. During high school at
Hendrickson, Garcia led the team in batting average, hits, and
RBI all four years. In both 2008 and 2009, he was an all-state
selection by the Texas High School Coaches Association. In his
junior and senior seasons, the Coaches and Austin American
Statesman named Garcia to the all-Central Texas team. Also, in
2009, he was recognized as a “Texas Scholar.” The Commodores

Marco Gonzales, LHP- Gonzaga
Bulldogs
A 6-1
left-handed pitcher hailing from Fort Collins, Colorado,
Gonzales brings an outstanding resume to the Commodores. For
Rocky Mountain High School, Gonzales posted a perfect 11-0
pitching record with 87 strikeouts and a 2.20 ERA in 54
innings. As a senior, Gonzales earned the coveted Colorado
Gatorade Player of the Year Award. As a sophomore, junior, and
senior, Marco earned first team all-State, All-League, and
All-Colorado selections while leading his team to four 5A
state championships. The commodores are excited to have such a

Sean
Hagan, LHP- St. John’s Red Storm
As
the second St. John’s player on the Commodores, Hagan bring a
Randy Johnson-esque presence to the team with his 6-6 stature
and left-handed delivery. As a freshman, Hagan went 5-1 during
his 20 appearances. In a tough Big East conference, Hagan had
a 4.85 ERA with 53 strikeouts in 55.2 innings. Out of
Mamaroneck High School in New York, Hagan earned four baseball
and hockey letters. In 2009, he was the Section 1 Pitcher of
the Year earning all-state honors as a senior. Hagan will add
to the already-impressive Commodores 2011 pitching rotation.

Andrew Heaney, LHP- Oklahoma State
Cowboys
Heaney
joins the Commodores as a 6-2 left-hander out of Oklahoma
State. In 2010, Heaney led the Cowboys with five wins becoming
the first freshman pitcher to lead the team in wins since
2001. A four-year letter winner in high school, Heaney
finished his senior year with a 7-2 record, 114 strikeouts,
and 1.32 ERA. In 2009 the Tampa Bay Rays in the 24th round
drafted him. Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Kentucky, and Arkansas
also recruited Heaney following his impressive high school
career. Falmouth is looking forward to having the dominating

Ross Heffley, INF- Western Carolina
Catamounts
Heffley
entered the 2011 season, carrying a six-game hit streak on his
shoulder. A 5-8 infielder, Heffley started all 56 games in
which he saw action during the 2010 season. He led the team
with 28 multiple-hit games and 16 multiple-RBI games. In 2010,
he recorded a team-best .361 batting average with a team-high
86 hits including 15 doubles and a seasonal career-high 11
home runs. During his freshman season, Heffley
was named the Southern Conference Freshman of the Year.

Christian Jones, LHP- Oregon
Ducks
Christian
returns to Guv Fuller field as last season’s most dominant
pitcher. A 2010 Cape League All-Star, Jones brings experience
and talent to the team. A 6-2 lefthander from Danville,
California, he finished the 2010 season at Oregon with a 2-2
record, 21 strikeouts, and a 3.71 ERA. Jones was pivotal in
the Commodores’ second place finish in the Western Division as
he posted 3-3 record with 26 strikeouts. The most impressive
of his 2010 accomplishments was holding batters to a .177
batting average in the CCBL. The Commodores are excited to
have Christian back and look forward to another dominating

Spencer Kieboom, C- Clemson
Tigers
Kieboom
comes to Falmouth with big shoes to fill at catcher following
Andrew Susac’s 2010 All-Star season. A 6-0 catcher from
Marietta, Georgia, Kieboom was named a 2009 Louisville Slugger
Honorable Mention All-American. Perfect Game ranked Kieboom as
the #42 prospect out of Georgia and #465 prospect in America.
AT Walton High School, Kieboom set the school’s record for
doubles and RBIs. Falmouth welcomes this Tiger to the team,
especially since Clemson and the Commodores have such an
impressive track record producing last season’s pitcher Scott

Jack Marder, IF-OF- Oregon
Ducks
A 6-0
infielder from Calabasas, California, Marder comes to Falmouth
following a successful 2009 summer playing second base for the
Conejo Oaks of the California Collegiate Summer League. While
at Conejo, Marder was named the #6 prospect of the league in
addition to all-league honors and the batting title
(.375). The Arizona Diamondbacks selected Marder in the
30th round of the 2009 MLB first year player draft. As a
freshman at Oregon, Marder finished the season with .249
batting average and five home runs, while ending the season

Jake Rodriguez, INF- Oregon State Beavers
A
native of Elk Grove, California, Rodriguez continues the
Oregon State tradition at Falmouth. Rodriguez was rated as the
No. 102 high school prospect in the United States by
www.pgrcrosschecker.com. During high school, he earned
all-conference honors in each of his three years and all-city
twice. In 2008, Rodriguez served as captain of Team USA U-16
Gold Medal winning club. As a junior at Elk Grove, he batted
.522 with five home runs, ten doubles, and four triples. The
Commodores Club is looking forward to having Rodriguez on

Shane Rowland, C- UMiami (FL)
Hurricanes
Along
with Spencer Kieboom of Clemson, Rowland is one of two
catchers on this year’s roster. At Tampa Catholic High School,
Rowland batted .391 as a senior, while posting 30 RBI, two
home runs, and an 80 percent throw out percentage; he was
named to the second team All-State. Rowland has participated
in both the 2009 East Coast Pro-Showcase and USA Baseball
trials. Last summer, he played summer ball for the Florida
Legends League. The Commodores are looking forward to seeing
his consistent bat at the plate and frightening arm during

Taylor Sandefur, RHP/INF- Western Carolina
Catamounts
A 6-2
dual right hander and infielder, Sandefur joins Falmouth after
two years at Western Carolina. As a freshman, he pitched in
twelve games, the most among any WCU freshman hurlers. He
tossed 50.1 innings, while posting 5.19 ERA and 24 strikeouts.
Prior to WCU, Sandefur was a four-year varsity member at Atlee
High School, earning all-academic honors all four years.
During his junior and senior seasons, Sandefur earned
honorable mention all-region. Sandefur comes to Falmouth as
one of two Catamounts looking forward to making a positive

Simms, P- Rice Owls
Simms
comes to Falmouth as a 39th round selection by the
Washington Nationals in the 2009 MLB draft. Over the summer of
2010, Simms played for the United States 18 and under national
team helping the USA to a 19-2 mark and tournament-best 7-1
record at the Junior World Championships held in Canada. In
four international starts, Simms posted a 4-0 record and a
0.96 ERA. While at College Park HS, Simms was an All-America
honoree by Baseball Magazine. The Commodores are looking

Deandre Smelter, RHP/OF- Georgia Tech Yellow
Jackets Smelter
joins Falmouth as a 14th round draft pick by the
Minnesota Twins in the 2010 MLB draft. A 6-3 right hander,
Smelter was rated the No. 5 overall baseball prospect in the
nation and No. 2 player in Georgia by Perfect Game
Crosschecker. While at Tattnall Square Academy, Smelter was a
four-year letter winner and two-year captain in baseball under
head coach Joey Hiller, leading his school to state tiles in
2008 and 2009. In 2009, Smelter was an Aflac All-American,
while in 2010; he was named a Louisville Slugger All-American.

Andrew Smith, P- North Carolina Tar
Heels
A 6-2
right hander, Smith joins Falmouth as a 40th round
draft pick by the Oakland Athletics. Perfect Game ranked Smith
as the No. 6 prospect in Georgia and No. 37 nationally, while
Baseball America ranked him No. 79. In 2009, he played in the
Under Armour All-America Game at Wrigley Field claiming
preseason All-America honors by both Under Armour and Perfect
Game. Smith plays college ball for the Tar Heels at the

Nathan Thornhill, P- Texas Longhorns
A 6-1
right hander out of Cedar Park High School in Texas, Thornhill
joins Falmouth as the sole Longhorn on this year’s roster.
Thornhill was named the 2009 Preseason High School
Underclassman All-American Second-Team by Perfect Game USA. As
a junior, he was first team All-District 16-5A, posting a 5-3
record with a 1.80 ERA and 96 strikeouts in 62.1 innings. He
also batted .316 with six doubles and 14 RBI. Finally,
Thornhill was the starting quarterback while at Cedar Park
High School. The Commodores are excited to have a Longhorn ace

Kyle Von Tungeln, OF- TCU Horned
Frogs
Von
Tungeln, out of Sugar Land, Texas, returns to Falmouth for his
second season with the Commodores. Out of TCU, “VT” made 19
starts his freshman season in center field. In 2010, he posted
four multi-hit games and three multiple RBI contests. In four
attempts, he stole three bases, while scoring 25 runs and
driving in 16. Baseball America ranked him as the
77th best high school player in Texas and the
37th best college freshman draft prospect. While at
Kempner High School, “VT” earned All-Houston, All-District,
1st Team All-State, and 2nd Team
All-American honors. Falmouth is excited to have Von Tungeln

Max
White, OF-3B- Oklahoma Sooners
A 6-1
outfielder from Durant, Oklahoma, White was a four-year letter
winner under head coach Zach Crabtree at Durant H.S. He led
the Oklahoma City area with a .576 average en route to first
team all-state honors. White posted 16 home runs, 67 RBIs, 58
runs scored, 35 stolen bases, and nine triples. In 2009,
MaxPreps named him as an All-American for medium schools.
After hitting .468 with 13 doubles, nine homers, and 59 RBIs
in 2008, White was named all-state honorable mention. Falmouth

Jantzen Witte, INF- TCU Horned
Frogs
A 6-1
infielder from Arlington, Texas, Witte led the Horned Frogs in
batting average at .374 as a red-shirt freshman. Witte was
also a 2010 honoree of the Fort Worth Regional All-Tournament
team. Playing in 49 games for TCU, he totaled 61 base hits,
including 15 doubles, one triple, and four home runs. Witte
also racked up 39 RBIs, while scoring 32 runs. Of his 39 RBIs,
12 came with two outs. He was ranked second on TCU with 16
total sacrifices, all while playing solid defense with a .937
fielding percentage. Falmouth welcomes another Horned Frog to

Bob
Clark - General Manager
Bob was born and
raised in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He graduated from
Catholic Memorial High School in 1967, where he played second
base on the undefeated 1967 Catholic Conference Champion
baseball team. He was a first team member of the 1967
All Catholic Baseball Team and honorable mention on the Boston
Globe All Scholastic Team. A shoulder injury prevented
him from playing at Fordham University where he attended and
graduated in 1971 with a Bachelor of Science degree majoring
in economics.
Bob’s father was
a semi-pro baseball player who also pitched batting practice
for the Boston Braves. Bob moved to Falmouth in 1990 with his
family and has coached Little League and took the first team
from Falmouth to play at Cooperstown Dream
Park. |

Jeff Trundy - Manager
Jeff enters his
17th season coaching in the Cape League and his
13th year as Manager of the Falmouth
Commodores. In the off-season, Jeff is the head baseball
coach at The Gunnery, a private prep school in Washington,
CT. The Maine native is a graduate of the University of
New Hampshire where he was elected captain of the baseball
team his senior year.
Jeff has a
master’s degree from the University of Colorado. Jeff began
his coaching career at Colorado as a graduate assistant and
has been coaching since along with a stint as a part-time
scout for the Blue Jays. Jeff received the CCBL’s 2004
Mike Curran Manager of the Year Award. |

Shane Wedd - Assistant Coach
Shane Wedd
returns to the Falmouth Commodores for his fifth season.
In 2007, Shane coached third base. In 2008, 2009, and
2010 Shane was the pitching coach. He is in his fourth
season as an assistant coach for Pratt (KS) Community
College. Prior to his hire at Pratt, Shane was the GM of
the Kansas City Sluggers Baseball Club. Shane was hired
by the Sluggers in 2000 as Director of Baseball
Operations. His duties over the last seven years have
included: overseeing the development of the players and
coaches in the Sluggers program, the day-to-day business
operations, running camps and showcases, and coaching the
Sluggers 18 nationally recognized elite summer team.
Wedd played
collegiately at the University of Kansas, lettering for the
Jayhawks from 1997 – 2000. Shane primarily played
catcher and first base for the Jayhawks while being voted team
captain his junior and senior seasons by his teammates.
He finished his career in the Top 10 for career homeruns at
KU. He was a three-time Honorable Mention Academic
All-Big 12 performer, and was named First Team Academic
All-Big 12 in 2000. He was named the recipient of the
2000 Ron MacDonald Coaches Award, given by the coaching staff
at KU, for his leadership contributions on and off the
filed.
Wedd raised in
Lawrence, Kansas. He attended Lawrence High School where
he lettered in football and baseball. He was named First
Team All-State in both football and baseball while helping the
Lions win the state champion ship in both sports his senior
year. |

Daniel Carte - Assistant Coach
Daniel returns to
Falmouth as a first year coach after a very impressive summer
playing for the Commodores in 2004. That year, Carte won
two thirds of the league’s Triple Crown with 11 home runs and
38 RBI’s, while his .308 average fell 19 points shy of the
league leader. He became one of only six other players
in Cape Cod League history to reach double digit home runs
(11) and stolen bases (13) in a single season. Carte was
also honored for his efforts that summer by Baseball America
being named their National Summer Player of the
Year.
Carte played
collegiately at Winthrop University (SC) where he was a 3-time
All-Big South Conference outfielder and an All-American.
In 2005, he was drafted in the 2nd Round
(52nd overall) by the Colorado Rockies and has
spent the last six years playing professional baseball.
Carte was raised in
Hurricane, West Virginia and is married to the former Mallory
O’Dell. The couple currently resides in
Morgantown, West Virginia. |

Daniel Dulin - Assistant Coach
The 2011
Commodores welcome Coach Daniel Dulin. A native of
Lawrence, Kansas, Dulin played second base while attending
Highland Community College and finished his Bachelor’s degree
through Fort Hays State University.
Dulin’s coaching
experience started at Lawrence High School under the tutelage
of previous Commodore assistant Brad Stoll. In the summer of
2008, Dulin assisted the Laramie Colts of the Mountain
Collegiate League, where he helped lead the team to the MCL
Championship. During this time Dulin accepted a position
at Coffeyville Community College as assistant coach.
While coaching two seasons at Coffeyville, Dulin worked with
outfielders and served as recruiting coordinator. During
his stint the team set school records for wins, and highest
regular and post season finishes. In 2009, Dulin
completed an internship with the Washington Nationals at their
spring training facility that covered Amateur and Pro
Scouting, Player Development, and Baseball Operations.
Currently, an
assistant at Hutchinson Community College in Hutchinson,
Kansas, he works closely with the hitters and infielders, in
addition to recruiting. |

Donald E. O’Malley,
M.D. - Team Physician
Assistant
Professor of Surgery, USUHS Dr. O’Malley enters his
11th year as the Team Physician for the Falmouth
Commodores. He trained at the Military Medical School in
Bethesda, MD., and did his orthopedic training at Naval
Hospital, Bethesda. He served 16 years in the Navy
before coming to Falmouth.
Dr. O’Malley was
the Team Physician at the U. S. Coast Guard Academy from
1994-1998. He is currently the Medical Co-Director of
the Falmouth Road Race. He has attended the Advance Team
Physician course and has a close association with Dr. Tom
Gill, Team Physician for the Boston Red Sox & New England
Patriots.
Dr. O’Malley is
Board Certified in the specialty of Orthopedic Surgery &
Sports Medicine, by the American Board of Orthopedic
Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of
Orthopedic Surgeons, and The American College of Sports
Medicine. |

Laura Murphy – Athletic Trainer
Laura
Murphy is from Boxborough, MA she graduated in May 2011 from
Endicott College in Beverly, MA with a Bachelors Degree in
Athletic Training. She has worked extensively with The Pingree
School Football team, Endicott Men’s Lacrosse and Men’s Soccer
teams. While at Endicott she was the secretary of the Athletic
Training Club, a volunteer for Life Choices where she worked
with adults with mental and physical disabilities. More
recently, she has become involved with a new program called
iCan where she leads middle school aged children and their
families in a healthy weight loss program. In April Laura was
given the opportunity to volunteer as an Athletic Trainer at
the Step Into Sport camp at Loughborough University in the UK.
She is an avid Red Sox fan and has spent numerous summers on
the Cape. |
